Permitted use

Use this read-only service for public-record research. No sign-in or purchase is required. Respect rate limits and the published terms of each source. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, disrupt the service or submit confidential information.

Source qualifications

Records have different dates and coverage limits. Preserve source citations and dates when reusing results. Search results are bounded and are not evidence that no bill, regulation or rule exists. Bill text versions are not enacted law unless enacted; eCFR is an editorial compilation; publication dates are not effective dates.

Limits of the service

The service does not provide legal advice, legal determinations or compliance assurances. Records are provided as available without a guarantee of completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular decision. GovBot is not affiliated with or endorsed by Congress or any government agency. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
